7. Yosemite National Park, California


If the freezing, howling winds at Yosemite isn’t fear inspiring enough on it’s own, the Miwok Indians believed the waterfalls here are haunted by Po-ho-no, the “Evil Wind” which entices people to the edge of the falls and then pushes them over the edge. In 2011, three hikers plunged to their deaths from the top of Yosemite’s Vernal Falls.
